International College Organizes Revolutionary Cultural Activity
On the eve of the 11th Martyrs' Memorial Day, in order to commemorate the great achievements of revolutionary martyrs and to pass down the spirit of revolutionary martyrs, the International College organized a visit to the Fang Zhimin Martyrs' Cemetery on the morning of September 28th for a red theme activity entitled: Commemorating Martyrs and Dedicating Youth to the Motherland.
At the Martyrs' Cemetery, cypress trees stood solemnly alongside the Fang Zhimin monument which towered over the grounds. At the beginning of the event, all participants lined up neatly and entered the cemetery to carry out a memorial ceremony. A student representative presented a floral basket to the monument, and all students stood in silence to mourn the revolutionary martyrs and collectively retook the oath of joining the Communist Youth League. At the end of the memorial ceremony, all the students stood solemnly in front of the monument and recited Fang Zhimin's Lovely China in unison. With heartfelt language, they expressed their love for the motherland and their deep remembrance and respect for the revolutionary martyrs.
Subsequently, all the students stepped into the exhibition hall where they listened to the introduction of Fang Zhimin's heroic deeds and visited his tomb, deeply commemorating the great achievements of the revolutionary martyrs.
This activity was a vivid and lively ideological and political education class in practice. Xu Junwei, the monitor of Class CFA241, said, Fang Zhimin's life was a life of fighting for truth and justice. Standing here, I have a better understanding of my responsibilities and mission. I deeply feel a strong sense of national pride and historical mission. We have a responsibility to carry on the martyrs’ legacy, remain firm in our beliefs, and strive forward for a better future.
In order to vigorously create a strong atmosphere of patriotism, dedication, unity, and progress, and to carry forward the revolutionary spirit, the International College will organize activities such as saluting the national flag, speech contests, Youth League themed activity days, and themed class meetings to guide students to continuously strengthen their ideals and beliefs, establish lofty aspirations, inherit the revolutionary traditions and mature into individuals of the New Era through practice.
